Anticipation levels high for Season 2022. Where are we headed?

It is that time again when we look towards the new snow season, one that will hopefully be a much more normal one than what we have seen for the past two seasons. Covid has seen the last two years interrupted with lockdowns and complete resort closures. Australia’s Premier long range snow forecaster Pete ‘The Frog’ Taylor has a look at what the early part of Season 2022 has install for us.

Earlier this year I was lucky enough to be invited by Club Med to review their brand new snow resort in the French Alps at Grand Massif Samoens Morillon. I’d never been to a Club Med snow resort before, but had been to three of their summer resorts (Malaysia, Bali and Mauritius) and was a big fan of the all inclusive holiday. We have are nearly at the end of the school holidays for the Victorian kids and in the middle for the NSW. We have a fantastic weekend of sunshine coming up and the crowds will no doubt flock to the mountains and make the most of the fantastic mid July conditions. What a week we have had. It started with zero natural snow on the ground and a man made patch or two. We saw it wet on Tuesday and Wednesday with a little snow up high, then things went nuts. June went from zero to hero within a matter of days.
