MORE SNOW

They have beefed up their snowmaking system with eleven new fully automatic DB6 snow guns. This extends snowmaking to the bottom section of The Chute and tops up coverage on key runs including Wombat, Shakey Knees and Family Run. This brings the automated snowmaking network to 244 guns.

NEW DEVELOPMENTS

The old No.96 building on The Avenue has a stunning new look for 2016 following a major redevelopment that has converted the long-time staff accommodation into 8 x two and three bedroom prestige apartments just a short walk from the ABOM chairlift.

BETTER MOBILE SERVICE

A bugbear of the mountain user has always been their mobile coverage, or lack of it. Telstra has undertaken a series of projects to extend the height of the nobile phone base station located in the Mt Buller Village Square, raising it from 8 metres to 16 metres to improve the network coverage at the resort.

The extension has improved 3G coverage with the addition of 4G services, the base station can now provide access to high speed wireless broadband to all Telstra customers.

The project was completed in January 2016 and visitors to Mt Buller during the peak winter period will be able to take advantage of the improved network services.

NEW RENTAL GEAR

Mt Buller has invested big time in their rental shops for 2016. Buller sports has 300 pairs of new Head BYS rental skis ready to go at Ski School and Horse Hill outlets along with 400 pairs of fresh new ski boots, clothing and helmets. Now who doesn’t like fresh new gear.
