Default Ski test of the Fischer Superior.

    Fischer Superior
Today I had the pleasure of testing a new ski from Fischer for this season, for some reason I missed testing it at Winter park earlier in the year, which is a shame as I really enjoyed this ski.
The Fischer Superior is a great ski for Australia as it turns with ease and stability at speed, as well as being very agile, for sharp short radius turns.
I decided to try it out in the firm moguls first up this morning, as the ski obviously suited very short turns, right away I loved this ski, as it made moguls so easy, I think it was one of my best mogul runs all year, so happy with that mogul run, I went back for another couple of runs while I had this ski.
Later on we hit the harder faster icy area’s, where this ski held on at a decent speed with no chatter, and gave a good smooth GS type of ride, I think the best qualities of this ski was, how versatile it was for being so stable for edge hold, yet at the same time, so exceptionally easy and forgiving to use, it reminds me of the earlier versions of the old RC4 SC, before they became too stiff and less forgiving to be a good all rounder, I can see me stocking this ski next season, and certainly suggesting intermediate to advanced skiers seek it out at demo days.
Fischer skis have always excelled at edge hold, and this model is right up there, I expected it to give a bit of chatter after flexing them, but it appears Fischer have sorted out the vibration dampening, I felt I could use this ski all day and not be tired at the end of the day.
When the snow got a bit slushy towards mid day, I decided to take them off piste and was thinking at the time, maybe I should have been on a ski with early rise, but the Superior handled it with ease, and I didn’t even notice it didn’t have an early rise tip, in my opinion the Superior is a fantastic all rounder for Australia.

My youngest son Daniel who normally skis on the new Volkl Code skis at Mach 1 speed, grabbed them for a few runs also, and he was surprised at how well they held an edge, and how snappy they were from turn to turn, I think if he could have a second set of skis, he would be looking at the Fischer Superior.

A big thanks to the Fischer importer for allowing us to borrow them for the day.
