Gavin Jennings review of our resorts (Sustainable Alpine Resorts - a framework for discussion, dse.vic.gov.au, rightly says the o/s resorts are attracting our skiers.

How's this for novel? Alpine Meadows has an adult 'no saturday pass' (and a few blackouts) that includes an all mountain (96mm under foot) or powder ski for $US850. (Hmmm, wonder if bindings are included. There's gotta be a catch).

So when will our resorts offer a $850 season pass with free skiis?

Maybe when they also keep the lifts open while there's skiable snow?

At Altitude there's a group of cashed up old fahts and we're looking at half price skis. The sales lass was salvitating ... so I asked if they give a free season pass like Alpine Meadows Anyway, came away with $500 of Elan 2010 model skiis and bindings which seemed 'well priced'. Thanks Alpine Meadows.

So an Alpine season pass is effectively $US125-175? Cheap.
