Long Range Outlook
The snowfields around Queenstown and Wanaka are about to go into full on snow and blizzard mode. Big snowfalls over the next week will turn the South Island snowfields into a Winter Wonderland. Treble Cone looks like it will see most snow, bu the other snowfields will also receive a deep fresh cover. Be aware that strong winds on Saturday and Sunday are likely to see lifts go on hold with Sunday seeing the strongest winds I've ever predicted onj here. I think winds of 150mkm/h or above are not out of the question. This could cause some damage.

Roads will be snow affected an an issue over the next week, some resorts may have to shut to clear some snow. Best to wait the week out and get the most of it when it clears. There will be avalanche danger with snow much snow on a hard base (will affect Heli Skiing Tours).

This should see enough snow to get through to seasons end, and the best skiing and boarding of the season.
