So far this year it's new thermals, jacket, goggles oh and skis .
But my boots leak so they need to be replaced.
And I should get a helmet.
Gear *****? Me never.

Regret for the things we did can be tempered by time; it is regret for the things we did not do that is inconsolable.
Skis? You're not going to the dark side are you?Originally posted by Tobi:

Not any time soon.

Sorry to be controversial but I get annoyed with these posts. TB stands for Torture Boots.
My experience for deciding . Performance, price and current year do not live in the same universe.
Bought two years past RACER boots at a grand discount. Guess what -didn't work out!! Weird, Ive never raced but..That aside they were well fitted, just not well suited.
The best and worst day I ever had is when they literally snapped in half far from help, long story but one ski skiing, limping and walking to civlisation cemented my hate for these puppies.
Anyway I got new ones, long fitting appointment, confident with my fitter, own a pair starting with "d" that all would sniff at.
They fitted however, for a while. 50 skis later in Jackson, they didn't. Found a fitter God (wilderness ski I think). My story-"these **** I need new ones", him, "no they don't", 2 min adjustment and we are friends again.
For the techy minded, it was wedges, apparently my feet have zip flex and they had packed a bit.
I have footbeds, they are twenty years old, my fitter,(and fixer) told me they are fine-keep em. Not everyone needs them, high foot arch for me.
Anyway, this was a long post. My point, a good fitter speaks to you, they ask you questions, they make you try different things. If they are rushing you out for a sale then they are not that good. They don't necessarily reside in Wodonga.
I really don't understand your post TB...what are you trying to say
No such word as can't, I can do whatever the hell I like !!!!
I was wondering the same thing, but I think he is trying to say some boot fitters will try to fix the boots you already own rather than just sell you a new set, which is good, I know I also do that, except when they are the wrong size, which is quite often the case.Originally posted by Crystal:

You can't tell which way the train went by looking at the tracks.
15mm Shell gap is the way to go at present, very few skiers can tolerate anything less, and for Alpine touring I have found closer to 20mm shell gap keeps the customer happy.
