Paul should be able to help you out with this. I have Intuitions, and I have loved them for years.
Toe caps are very important!

Scarpa intuition liners
Hi All,
Just joined the site, seems like a wealth of information and experiance.
I may be on the wrong forum for this question?
Have just purchased a pair of Scarpa Skookums from an O/S supplier after skiing in a pair of Raichle Concordia's for the past twenty years. Decided to move in to the twenteth century.
The Skookums have these new fangled intuition liners which are heat mouldable.
Does anyone have information or advice on making the liners fit my feet using the heat process?
The booklet that came with the liners mentions using toe caps during the fitting process. Is this neccessary??

Re: Scarpa intuition liners
G'day Barry, Welcome!
I did the same thing with a set of Garmont Adrenaline a few years back.
First, you need to figure out if there are any areas of the shell that might create pressure points. Do this by wearing the boots for a bit with the liners unmoulded and see what feels tighter and where. Once you have done this, mark those spots on your foot, then tape some thin HD foam to those points. Also you can use tape and HD foam as a toe cap.
Once your foot is padded, grab the thickest woollen socks you own and put them on.
Now, heat up your liners, for this I think I had my oven on about 60-70 degrees C and heated for about 10 minutes, checking to ensure they are not melting.....they need to be pretty warm, but not smoking hot!!
Put the liners on your padded and socked foot and then put your boot on as tight as you can handle, then sit and wait for 15-20 mins.
That will have it done. They will pack out slightly more and will be real comfy after around 10 days use.....if they are not, you need shell work.
Paul may be able to help with heating temps and times, as my memory is a bit rusty on that bit.
Cheers

Re: Scarpa intuition liners
John / Karen,
Many Thanks. The tip on HD foam on the tight spots on the foot and toe cap is gold.
Do the intuition liners remould during skiing like the Svenfit fluid cork liners??
Kind regards,

Re: Scarpa intuition liners
No they dont really remould, they just pack out a little tiny bit, but thats ok, cos I reckon they relax a little after moulding anyway.

BTW, everything I know about this process came from Paul O, so I can't take any credit for knowing this stuff.
The slight pack out was in my experience, but thats it!*insert witty comment here*

Re: Scarpa intuition liners
The advice John Deere gave you is correct. I also have Garmont Adrenalin Boots in which I have put the Sven Cork liners. These liners in my opinion are more precise amd performance orientated than the intuition liners. When moulded they give great comfort and fantastic heel hold down. When back country skiers come into my shop for boot advice i suggest they try these cork mouldable liners.

Re: Scarpa intuition liners
Hi John,
I bought a pair of the SVEN's from you for my old pair of boots a couple of years ago. How easy is it to remould those liners for the new boots, and how do I go about it.

Re: Scarpa intuition liners
In case John Morgan doesn't get back soon, the answer is they are very easy to reheat and refit to any boot that is the same shell size, if you find they have loosened up a little since buying them get a bit of a top up with more cork while you are at it.
