Does anyone know of cheap places to stay for 3 months in a Japan ski resort? I would also be interested in staying in a place that employs people to work for Rent and Food instead of pay?

Have you looked into long term stays in backpacker hostels?
I have heard there is one in Asahikawa where you can stay for 3 months.

Kamui is the closest. (about 20-30 mins away)
If you had a car, you are not that far from pippu, asahidake, kurodake and I think Furano is about an hr away.
From what I hear, there are a few other smaller hills scattered around the place which are uncrowded.
