There is currently a big-ish storm heading through the Serria Nevadas so we decided to delay the trip for a day. So fingers crossed it will be a blue bird day with minimal wind tomorrow with a good 25" of new snow having fallen over the weekend.[QUOTE]

Hi All
Enjoying my first couple of days in SF.
Day one - fresh off the plane we went and had lunch in the park were little D could have a play. And then we did a bit of shopping at a Mall. Very crazy cause it was DEAD absolutly dead... sometimes we were the only people in a shop.
The next day we went to Half Moon Bay - we had lunch at a brewry and went for a couple of walks along the beach. It was a bit overcast and threatening to rain but overall was a nice day.
Yesterday we kind of hung out again - did a trip to the park (gets little D's engery out!!) and wandered around Downtown Mountain view, which had a bit of a village feel. We also drove around Stamford which was pretty cool.
And we also drove around Google which was pretty funky. I have some funny pics from there. They have these 3 wheel motorised cars, even better they have the elecrtic outlet that lets you charge the car!
Also there is bikes everywhere in bike racks which aparently staff can use any time to get around the campus (yep google is almost as big as stamford!)

There is currently a big-ish storm heading through the Serria Nevadas so we decided to delay the trip for a day. Will be able to upload photos on Tuesday.

The previously mentioned storm that was due all weekend apparently dumped snow Saturday night, all day Sunday and it must have also snowed overnight as there was a lots of snow on the road even though it had been cleared. Highway 80 was okay but from the turn off to the resort (5 miles or so) there was snow on the road. It never creases to amaze me how these big US resorts are straight off the freeway… and sharing the road with Semi’s doing 70 on snow covered roads.

View through the sunroof.

We met up with a friend outside Sacramento for dinner on the way home and she had been at Squaw on Sunday and it was terrible she did one run and the +1 and brother did 3 before they headed home. When we checked the weather on Sunday it had snowed 22” but I am sure there was at least another feet on top of that… but it was a hard website to figure out. No last 24hr or 48 etc.
It was pretty tracked out by the time we got on the mountain so maybe it didn’t snow as much at Sugarbowl on the Sunday. But the snow was still really nice – covering the lower buckles of my boot most of the time.

Sunday night we went to bed having set the alarm for 6 (but I didn’t know that). We also set the coffee machine as well and packed food for lunch. Overnight I woke a few times, once too little D waking and the second time to SnoDiva’s phone going off at 3am. I heard it as it was downstairs with me I thought maybe it was my mum and something was wrong since she only had Snodiva’s mobile number. But it was some sort of an alarm (we guess little D had somehow set) the next around 5am I woke to the coffee brewing… not long after that I realised that Snodiva hadn’t come down to wake me and got into a bit of a panic and so went upstairs to wake her. Turns out it was 5.15 and she had set the alarm for 6, Snodiva decided we may as well get on the road anyway so we made coffee and bagels for breakfast, finished packing the esky and were in the car and off at 5.45. We arrived at about 9.30am and were on the mountain just after 10…. We must have been half asleep as there was lots of ar.se-ing around including me leaving my gloves at the car….
You can see the high winds blowing at the top of the mountain (it was bitterly cold for a spring day!)
