Shame it's not for more than just a week, just a ploy to annoy Qantas in their last week of FF transfers from lots of credit cards.

AndDee, thanks for the tip off about V deals last year. Our flight was superb. The leg room beats by a country mile our Qantas flights in 07/08. Unlike an aarghline we used to fly, V wasn't cramped. The mood lighting (twilight) helped one nod off. The seating crew gave us 'bench beds', 3 rows across. After maybe 1.5 hours at LAX Customs - they employ clockwatchers - there were V staff at the carosel who found our skiis sitting in an internal elevator: yep: we'd never have looked there. Best of all, Mrs Vet is very happy with Vaustralia and regrets rolling her card points into Qantas.

Ive only just joined velocity and my earth card sends all my points to Qantas... but it seems to take so long to get any decent amount of points.

and afer years of saving, getting the cheap qantas award seats in peak times is hard, imo. At least with a 4 year old now, you can wag a bit of primary school.
