I thought I'd check in, it has been a while. Things here at the resort have been crazy, so has party life! I'm sick again, the usual bug that floats from department to department has finally got to me and I think I'm infecting my own department, just a nasty cold. I don't think I've ever had so many colds in my life! I've been up to so much, some things include sushi making at work, baker's assistant, working in a deli, ski instructing, partying every night of the week, getting up at 4.30am to go to work and spending 12 hours at work, aussie day parties, halloween parties, orphan christmas dinners, hiking back country and getting lost, snow blowing for the first time, making good friends for life, and of course, skiing. Oh, and also trying snowboarding for the first time, and falling over in the shop before even getting on the snow The best part has been seeing mates from home.

Yesterday it was +3 in town when I got thereafter w. 5 hours later, it became -20 wind chill and arctic blasts of wind were pushing around town causing snow to be blown everywhere, it looked pretty cool with the eye, but my camera didn't get any photos.

This season has been pretty sad, I think we've only had about 3 or 4 meters of accumulated, where the average is supposed to be 15 meters. Skiing is still good though, and has been attracting many from other places around the interior and west side of the country.

Seeing the economic meltdown towards end of last year really did have an impact to our ski society in Revelstoke. Many jobs were lost, many projects were canned or put on hold. And people who planned holidays, could no longer afford to come.

Anyway, life as a ski bum is some what different to the big bad corporate world, I'm glad I made a decision to come over here! There's only a few weeks left, people have already started leaving and returning to their home lands, and planning the next 2009/2010 season.

If anyone ever hesitates to do some seasons at the snow or one, I'd highly encourage and recommend you to do it Yes you'll miss your family and friends, but never waste an opportunity!

    More to come later...

I'd be happy if I had 15 inches.

The Americans are spooking themselves by these 'shock jock' tv 'reporters': some of John Howards voluntary unionism policies are like Obamba's, and yet the Yanks are screaming 'socialism'. Gee, Geo W Bush hung out with a card-carrying commie????

Some smaller resorts charge $39US for lift tix, or a mere $259 and $359 for season passes at Kirkwood and Heavenly respectively. We've got 50% lift tix at $US43 a day, and $100 a night 2 bedroom units with kitchen, and free shuttles betweeen resorts. For $3 more than a $75 adult lift ticket at Kwood, an ex_Slovak, Jan, drives you from Heavenly to Kirkwood, return.

    Ski cheap, ski often!

The major ingredient in germ killers is alcohol, Yeti.
