I told the other guys I would post this little story so here 'tis:
Dr D, bdenny4, Xena, Tan and myself were about three quarters of the way up the Eyre T-Bar on Saturday afternoon when a bolt of lightning hit the pylon in front of us.
This was followed by a huge crash of thunder and a "pop" as the t-bar came to an abrupt halt. At this stage we all thought it might be wise to let go in case the next bolt was even closer!
So we took off our skis and started to hike up the hill to try and find a line back to Front Valley. Every lift on the mountain had shut and the hail was hammering down - I've never been so pleased to be wearing a helmet
There was then another bolt of lightning and the most almighty crash of thunder. I hit the dirt (or the snow) and turned round to see that the others were also lying spread eagled, trying to get as low down as possible! It was very very close.
After lying there for a few minutes with the hail hammering down even harder we decided it was probably a good idea to try and get down the hill. We seemed to be the only people around, the whole mountain appeared to be deserted.
Thankfully we had Dr. D with us, who picked a brilliant line down and got us all back safe and sound to the bottom of the Leichhardt T. From there it was an easy walk up the Home Tow, and then to Front Valley for a well deserved drink to settle the nerves in Jax!
Was a bloody awful day weatherwise, but I'm sure it's a day none of us will forget in a hurry!England, proud holder of the Ashes since August 22nd 2009

I read the paper in the perisher centre. No tale to tell.
How many days till it snows again?

You can't tell which way the train went by looking at the tracks.

This story is where my new signature quote below comes from!
And let's just say that I was glad I chose black ski pants and not white ones to match my jacket!
It was, in the end, classified as an adventure!

ewww, hail?
I was in the car heading home... got up to perisher valley at around 10, and there were hoards of people coming off the mountain, asked them what it was like, and they said it wasn't worth it...
It's quite humbling how fast the weather can change up there, though... Over easter, my mate and I went hiking up there and it was totally clear one minute, then bucketing the next... luckily we had the tent up, but even with the tent up still we got saturated.
Likewise, the lightning hit right next to us,
we felt like the tent was going to blow over, and was scared that the lightning would hit again closer to us than the last hit.
Well, count your blessings guys, it still sounds like a great day... it could have ended up a lot worse, you never know.
