It doesn't have that far to go now, it was over 1.07 last week.
Now that Obama has been forced into reinstating the Glass Steagall act, the USA are going to be in a big mess again very soon, how many of their commercial banks will survive this one, which is fair enough, they caused the problem now they can wear it.
The US$ will be worth AU$0.50 if they are lucky.

A big part of the demand for AUD has come from foreign central banks buying it to hold as reserves. China recently topped $3 trillion in reserves and have a large holding of AUD as part of that. Most of the other big holders of reserves have a portion of their holdings in AUD now. With other major currency interest rates so low (in addition to the type of problems outlined by Paul), the demand should stay around for quite a while yet and we snow lovers get to enjoy a high dollar for some time yet.

Its over a $1.08, and went to almost $1.085.

AUDUSD - 1.0870
AUDJPY - 89.20
AUDNZD - 1.3450
Even AUDCAD is 1.03!!

AUDNZD is now 1.3560.

IF we all put our OZ lift ticket/season pass/resort entry/overnight parking money together, we could probably buy our own NZ resort at these rates!

According to 2GB's News, Westpac believes the $A go to $1.12US and be parity at the end of the year.
