Fyi, Vaustralia's facebook page has return fares from $1525 for travel from 24th February 2011 from Mel, Syd or Brisbane. London was $1600 and a bit. Sale ends midnight.

Vaustralia and Ethihad teamed up to fly to London, Paris, Munich and a few simiilar places:

Flights between Melbourne/Brisbane and Abu Dhabi are operated by Etihad Airways. Connecting flights between Australian domestic ports are operated by Virgin Blue Airlines. Connecting flights between Abu Dhabi and London, Paris, Manchester, Frankfurt, Munich, Dublin and Moscow are operated by Etihad Airways"

Our trip in 2013 will be on points either with Etihad or Qantas.
