Got a gas stove and the oven switch has broken so that it is very difficult to turn on and off. Tried to get inside the panel but I could not figure it out.

Call out is $88 plus $100 per hour and parts on top. If they can fix the switch I guess it will be cheap but if they have to replace the whole panel I reckon it could be close to half the cost of a new one.

Don't know what to do :(

chunky , if it is a very old unit it could be a problem parts wise , before you do anything see if you can contact the company that made the unit . If they say that it has no parts available or you can't even find the company anymore then you have your answer .

if it is a top brand, you'll prolly find it's fixable. They made top brands well back in the old days.

Cheaper brands, new or old, don't bother.

It's a Delonghi Professional Gas Stove/Oven.

Call them anyway and ask for a quote over the phone, i would be inclined to keep the stove

Look up your local appliance spares supplier and go see them with the details of your cooker. Delonghi parts are pretty easy to get and by the way the repair guy is ripping you off by about 25%.
