Educating the skiing public the importance of correctly fitting boots is always going to be a problem, at least now in Australia there are shops with well trained boot fitters, around 10 years ago there were very few in Australia.

I suppose while there are shops out there prepared to sell boots without wanting to do the right thing by the customer this will go on, the single biggest problem in Australia is huge clearance sales that include boots at prices like 50% off, but with very little input from a boot fitter because too many people are wanting a bargain over a short period of time, the fitter just can't help all of them so people fit themselves into a set of boots that will be at least 1 -2 sizes too big and most often the wrong shape boot for their foot.
