Ok, who do you think is going to win and why.... I've been reading all the hype on this one and it is being billed as the biggest fight on Australian soil. Roy Jones Jnr is a legend in his own right.. and has won titles from middleweight to heavyweight and if he wins this cruserweight title will be the first guy to win every title between middleweight and heavyweight.

I think that may be enough motivation for him to win it... Combined with his speed I think he'll be hard for Green to handle. Then again the longer Green stays in the fight the more chance he has of knocking Jones out because green is a puncher. All in all I wouldn't be surprised if Green wins it but I think Roy might get him on points.

It'll be lights out for both Danny Green and his career, most likely before the end of the sixth...

They are both fit, but Jones is as hard as a rock. Check out the abs! Body shots will just tickle him, and his jaw is reasonably strong too.

Green has a reasonable puncher's chance, but on the proviso that Jones is NOT the boxer he once was.

If Jones is anywhere near as good as his heyday, Green will be lucky to survive the first! At least the first few rounds anyway.

If it does last the distance, Jones will have probably be at least 10 points ahead on all three cards.

Watch for the combinations that will set up his lethal hook...

Hmmm, just tossing up if I should spend the $50 or just go the pub and watch it.

hype?

maybe if you live in Sydney, not much talk of it in Melb town.

2 guys past their prime having a punch up, not really an interesting fight.

Jones will be too fast and Danny won't be able to get to him. Jones will out box him and probably finish him off around the 6th-8th rounds.

Slip I don't think Green is past his prime, in fact he's probably quicker than when he fought Mundine, however many folks think Jones is past his best and a couple of knockouts by Tarver and Johnson and a points win by Calzaghe have given him a vulnerability and this is perhaps why some think Green is a chance.

Green holds the current IBF world cruserweight title so is a current world champ and although it can be argued that there are about 4 or 5 different belts in each division he still has to be good enough to win one. If Jones wins the fight he is the first man EVER to hold 5 different weight division belts from middle weight to heavyweight... that regardless of the quality of belt is amazing... and don't forget this guy held every light heavyweight belt available in his absolute prime when no-one could touch him....

I remember Jones Jnr in his early days as champion when he did have all three belts he even played a game of pro basketball the night before a title fight because he just didn't think he'd get a proper workout from whoever he was fighting.

Green Knocked Jones Jnr out in the first round and retained his title.....I'm stunned by that result. Congrats to Green...he's now in for a very big payday.

just saw it on Fox. He hit him with a big right just after the 1 min mark that sent jones to the canvas. For the next 30 seconds Green unleashed as Jones tried to cover his head with his gloves. His legs were gone and once his hands started to drop and green get through the ref dived in to stop it.

haha yeah so much for all our predictions Green just anihilated him and good on him, I'd love to see him do that to Mundine, who I think would be scared now... Big pay day in dismantling a US boxing icon...

Speaking of Mundine.... Here was the look on his face when Green KO'd Jones:

Have to say after seeing it a few times it was a unlucky for Jones Jnr that the right got him on the temple which made his legs go. Well done to Danny but it was a bit of a lucky punch.

Opportunity knocked for Green, and he knew exactly what to do.

It was a pretty decent punch, but I can't believe that Jones would have been wobbled that much by a punch to the top of his head. I think he just thought "I'm here, I've got a cut of the purse, I don't need anymore of those punches.."

it hit the 'temple'...would have happened to anyone that got hit there.

I realise that it was the temple Frog but if it is that much of a weak point, surely it'd be a regular target for heavy hitters.

Mabye I'm being too cynical, but it was way too early in the fight for one punch to have such a crushing result against such a seasoned boxer...

But Roy asked for it by not adapting to his age and holding his hands up. He kept his left jab cocked by his hip and exposed his left temple.

Green knew this before he left the dressing room. But even he didn't expect it so early!

Nobody did...

Hey pow pig.. I was watching the slow mow of that shot on the temple and when you watch it in slow motion you see Jones's head snap back pretty hard, it was the perfect shot. A lot of people are saying it was lucky or that Jones took a dive... goose balls mate, you could see him wobbling after the shot, you can't fake jelly legs like Jones had, he just didn't get the time to recover.

Interestingly, before the fight Green said he had a punch that would knock Jones into next week, he set it up perfectly by getting Jones to drop his hands and then hit him with the overhand right... I'd love to see Green fight Hopkins, but not sure it will happen. Some say "lucky punch"... well you have to be in the ring to get lucky don't you... and you have to have the skills to pull it off and the power as well. So nah, I don't think it was lucky at all, I just think Jones was a lot slower than some thought and Green had it figured out.

As for the dive, everyone knows that Jones had a more massive payday coming in Hopkins next year... not gonna happen now, but I don't think Jones would have taken a dive and lost that chance. Jones was a true professional when losing to Green and said "we don't make excuses" when congratulating Green. True sportsmanship.
