Either that or book another cheap trip now and also go in sept. :-)
If your in melb jetstar just sent an email for $139 fares to Christchurch. Dates were essentially early July to late sept from memory. Go stay at methven at the backpackers place. They will drive you up mt shutt and to club fields in their little 4wd van for cheapies :-)

They need more than that just to cover the rocks.
The vested interests in skiing here seem to be very nervous about NZ. Some long-established clubs are said to be ditching Vic for NZ. Someone claimed the Govt wouldn't like to see places promote late season ski trips to NZ. And the Govt is only giving 10 year leases - at market rent - to older smaller clubs. Meantime someone is spending 200k of taxpayers money to study who skis where and why. Uum, for $200k I'd tell em

Mt Hutt has a 125cm base - I think their rocks are covered enough for some good skiing! Especially with a recent 52cm dump
