Here it is, just put up.
Snow was down to the cat sheds early this morning, making for some interesting skiers tracks, wet has moved back up to middle of Highnoon.

Just cleaned all the windows I could reach, the pink haze was too much
Everyone is trying to wash down everything as it is blocking drains.
The red dust is amazing.

Just saw the latest Friday Flat cam. That's sad man.. I feel sorry for those Milo Kids trying to learn on that.. :(
Funniest part is that I'm working tomorrow because we are taking photo's of Thredboland races tomorrow.

Probably get more dollars out of keeping Friday flat open though for newbie skiers and ski school. They spend more on rental, lessons etc.

Not in it's current condition, go have a look at the cam....

They need a beginners area on the upper mtn for marginal conditions and to ease Friday Flat crowds during peak season.
There's a bit of flattish land where the Easy Rider t-bar is. Maybe that'd be a good spot for a little beginners area with magic carpets, snowmaking and a short Friday Flat style chair.
Build a gondola from Friday Flat up to the bottom of Merrits to give easy access to and from the beginners area/Merrits (which would also take the pressure off of Gunbarrell/Hign Noon) and expand the Mountain House Cafe. Oh yeh and since the bottom of the beginners area would be a little way below the bottom of Stanley's, they should summer groom (ie remove all the shubbery to make a track back to Merrits) a traverse out of Stanley's and bring it into the resorts patrolled area graemlins/cold.gif
Kill two birds with one stone, improve beginners facilities and add a decent chunk of expert terrain.
Dreaming.

Dreaming. My first day on skis ever was at Thredbo, long before Friday flat and we all learn t up the top of Merrits back then.

Ok, so they are opening Basin tomorrow, as I heard it was a staff thing, closing Friday Flat now!
Sheezzz, you would wonder about the $$ they put into pushing that small amount of snow down just to be muddied.
Yes, that area used to be the beginners area, but now they will move beginners up to the section behind Eagles Nest - they walk up and then ski down.
You have to walk from above Ski in Ski out now.
Watched Richi and MM be 2nd and 3rd down this morning and Richard's tweet basically calls it as it is.

Its cold though, so the snow this weekend will be good if it does show.

Dreaming. I like how casually you added the bit about Stanley's when I know that's the reason you're putting the beginners up there! graemlins/big_laugh.gif

The Easy Rider T Bar was the beginner area when I learned to ski... and there was a Poma too, the remains of it were still there last time I skied Dream run (a long time ago).
The Basin was the beginners area before that.
