has anyone here had a MRI scan on thier head??
If so, did you find it difficult sticking your head in the machine?

i have had one on my knee, and its a massive machine, you can fit a lot into it.
Makes for a very cool experiance and not too daunting if thats what you meant?
Again, only had one on the knee.
The machines are pretty cool though!
When you having it?

Had attempt at MRI this morning...
noramaly don't suffer from claustraphobia (spell)
but this really freaked me out.....had to abandon it after 3 attempts......I think the whole clamping of the head to keep it still and the tightness of the headphones and the lack of ventilation freaked me a bit...
I think the whole last few weeks has put me off a bit....so far had 4 CT scans on the head as well- no dramas with these.
the attendant told me it happens to 1 in 6 people....
So, gotta re book and be sedated...bugger....
Just hoping the scan comes out all clear!!!
After all the tests you've been through in the last couple of weeks I'm not surprised really.
Good luck for next time! smile.gif

Yep, Rover I have had many. You just put yourself in your happy place and meditate. I was almost disappointed when mine were over as these were the quietest 45 mins of my life heheheheh.
Hope everything goes well.

Spent my +1's 21st having a MRI and the next 2 days in traction..... Brain scans for 6 weeks after.
Now officially an ex front row rugby player....
You'll be fine.... a few deep breaths to relax then get in and do it....

There's a song you could sing to yourself, Rover....
FREAK OUT
Aaahh Freak out!
Le Freak, C'est Chic
Freak out!
Aaahh Freak out!
Le Freak, C'est Chic
Freak out!
Aaahh Freak out!
Le Freak, C'est Chic
Freak out!
Aaahh Freak out!
Le Freak, C'est Chic
Freak out!
Have you heard about the new dance craze?
Listen to us, I'm sure you'll be amazed
Big fun to be had by everyone
It's up to you, It surely can be done
Young and old are doing it, I'm told
Just one try, and you too will be sold
It's called Le Freak! They're doing it night and day
Allow us, we'll show you the way
(chorus)
All that pressure got you down
Has your head spinning all around
Feel the rhythm, check the ride
Come on along and have a real good time
Like the days of stopping at the Savoy
Now we freak, oh what a joy
Just come on down, two fifty four
Find a spot out on the floor
(chorus)
Now Freak!
I said Freak!
Now Freak!
All that pressure got you down
Has your head spinning all around
Feel the rhythm, check the ride
Come on along and have a real good time
Like the days of stopping at the Savoy
Now we freak, oh what a joy
Just come on down, two fifty four
Find a spot out on the floor
(chorus)

I have had one done on my head... when I was 13.
Had others since...
Mum just told me to keep still or they would have to start again. May have been stiff with fright??
Anyways, I pass this advice on to you.
Try picture yourself somewhere else - I recommend music with a strong beat so you can't hear the magnets.
And remember if le freak out begins, close they eyes and think about skiing cause you will just have to do it all again!!!
smile.gif all the best!

oh and enjoy the drugs smile.gif
Rover,
I keep telling you to calm down smile.gif
Ok do it with drugs but really you just need to zone to a special place, maybe a powder covered Utah slope when the road is closed.
Ive had a head CAT scan, no they dont clamp your head. It was weird.
My daughter has them done every six months, brain, spine and thigh - been having them since she was five. You can do it Rover.
