i cant sleep cause im so amped to go... not long now. We leavve for sydney round 4pm saturday ad fly out for JAPOW at sparrows fart on sunday :D
i been haning for this trip for so long

Heading to Sydney in a few hours. Party to go to tonight, catch up with friends for lunch on Sunday, then catch up with more friends for dinner. Haircut and shopping on Monday and up at sparrows fart on Tuesday to catch my flight.

It's so nice being one of the departing ones, but I do feel for you lot not going. OK, so only a teensy bit. Never mind Legs, you're probably looking a simply lovely shade of green.

Well, if it helps, you go and then next thing it's all over...bar the visa bill. SDS and a huge visa bill don't mix! It don't matter how much you ski, when you ain't, it hurts. So, I went, I'm back, and now I'm jealous and proud!

Legs, Don't get jealous, get cheap, plan 1-2 years ahead, and seize the info on snowatch like Yeti's post on amex's bonuses: many got at least one free international flight a month for 4 months. Some claim they've got 10-12 free (cept taxes) economy international flights worth of bonuses.

2 'watchers are coming on ff points to California/Nevada with me for 2 weeks with $35A'ish a night self catering condo accom and $US43 lift tix for 7 resorts.

The 2010 family trip will have cheap lift tix at $US31, $29US pp in village self catering accom, free/cheap intra-resort shuttles, and free (except for taxes) flights to Sacramento ccmpliments of the Amex bonus promo. And the Velocity promo of 25% bonuses will add flights to the Amex bonuses/flights.

The 2011 trip for 4 weeks is underway.

I've p.m'd a few regular posters who enquired but its all been here in posts on snowatch.

The set up cost was a fraction of the cost to join say Australian Alpine Club (but I can't get a place in Japan).

Nup, not the slightest bit jealous - I've been having an awesome summer. The water has been amazing. Good times :D

Plus I agree with Dr D - the exchange rate makes it a whole lot easier.
