Fighter jets over Sydney??

I heard them, my boss saw them, they were high in the sky, I blinked one too many times & miss seeing them at all. :rolleyes:

a couple went rattling up Thredbo Valley last week or the week before that......
then again went past so quick I'm not sure whether they were F18's or F111's or whatever they play around with nowadays

There's been quite a few helicopter fly-bys (Blackhawks?) at night over Sydney in the last couple of months.

70 years since the declaration of the Second World War. We are commemorating using the same plane we used in that war :D

The ones in Thredbo were just bars off the Ts blowing away.

The helis do a regular CT training run over a particular building near Hyde Park.

The jet was an FA18 which flew over the harbour from the east and then performed a vertical climb above Martin Place to commemorate the lives lost in 43.

ahh yea saw losts of copters near st marys last time i was in the city.

the fa18s were in thredbo a few years ago too... scared the crap outta me.. so loud

Saw an F-111 screaming very low over Hotham a couple of weeks ago. I was going up the Big D lift and from where it was sitting it seemed to streak just the other side of Mt Higginbotham. Very impressive. I'd like to know whether they're allowed to go that close to a populated spot.

I've seen big grey fighter planes fly below me when at the top of the Cow t bar several times, HMAS albatross training apparently. High altitude and low flying stuff.

Wish I'd see the jets from our lunch room window at work, view straight into the city and chatty. Not sure I would have seen them though

apparently they did the fly over because the 1st wed in sept is the day to commemerate the aussies at war in the pacific.
