Hard to swallow seeing the man you idolised growing up being so weak.

Thought it might be something like that.

:(

How's he coping with things? I'm guessing not too well.

Thoughts are with you and your family. smile.gif

afternoon everyone. Bit of excitement this morning, not at 090909am though... took a tumble down some stairs and hurt my ankle, hotel thought it might be broken, I had no idea, so along trots the ambo's. Geez they are great people!! smile.gif

Turned into just a badly sprained ankle (who wouldn't thought you could fit a grapefruit under the skin near your ankle!) and hobbling along for now.

so pleased at the result! ie not broken

Good news. Now you just need to get it better enough to fit into a ski boot and ski!!!

Bad luck Pods, but good to see you looking at the half full glass.

Slipper - I am hearing you - my Dad is 62 and in hospital right now, has been in for nearly 2 weeks now. He also has gone from being a strong, capable man to a very weak and vulnerable shell of himself. It's breaking my heart and the doctors have not been able to figure out what it is yet - he has every test known to man done - MRI's, lumbar puncture, etc etc etc and an endless stream of experts seeing him - they are all scratching their heads and meanwhile, he is just slipping backwards further and further each day. I am afraid that they won't be able to recover his health to a level where he can return to enjoying his 'grey nomad' life with my Mum.

Sorry to download people.

they gave me one of those green whistles for the pain, so I think i'm allowed to wait until today is out until I need some cement. Not supposed to walk upstairs and I can't push the accelerator/brake as it's my right foot, so cabbing it to work etc.

tomorrow you can tell me to have some cement

oh and Slip and Xena - my thoughts are with you. My granny is holding on, but at 96 it's fairly difficult to watch her heart keep pumping and the Dr said it's in better condition than his (!!) yet the body and mind fall apart.

I'm thinking of you X! :(

I hope both Dads get better soon!!! It's so hard seeing a parent sick, you just feel powerless
