Mauritius

Probably not the best idea to post in a ski forum, but has anyone been to Mauritius before? Any ideas on what to do there? I'm going for a wedding there in 4 weeks - and staying for 10 days... No activities planned...

I'm just hoping Air Mauritius have gone to pilot school! They just sound a little dodgy.... I guess I've been watching too much Air Crash Investigation - I need to stop that!!! ;)

I've been there a couple of times. Its absolutly beautiful in places, and confronting in others. There are some very poor areas.
I stayed in Grand Bay, its a bit further from the airport than Port Louis. IIRC its about 1 hr or more drive from the airport to Port Louis. The market in Port Louis is worth a look. Lots of Indian traders to haggle with. Also a place called trou aux biches (Sp) had some great sandy beaches.
Air Mauritius was pretty average but safe.
