Probably from the point of view that they will use the lift just as much as an adult at that age. I am dreading it in later years - I will have 4 kids to buy for.

I thought they had a high school price?
Maybe it's just a local thing.

Maybe it's just a local thing. I think they do for season passes, but for day tickets it's 15 years and older according to their website

Student season pass to year 12 is $687. so if you do more than 6 days skiing per season it's worth getting one for kids older than 14.

In Canada, there is a youth price for between 14 and 18yrs - that's fair. Most resorts over there have kids ski free with earlybird pricing. Their earlybird is pay by Nov, for the start of season only a few weeks away!

The whole point is not the age of the 15+ or where they ride or how many lifts they use, but the fact that at that age they are still dependant financially on their parents. Its really not fair.

I reckon our youngsters get their fair share of riding for the $ paid and although we have FOUR! it's value for money.
How many adults are out there from first lift to last lift every available riding day of the season?
Say 5 days a week for 8 weeks and 7 days a week for 2 weeks, thats 54 days lets say @8 hours/day, that's roughly $1.15 per hour. for the lift pass.
Pretty good really!

I get what you're saying Belski, and I guess operators of all activities, not jsut skiing, put these prices in place and if no one makes a fuss, they think people are ok with it.

It will cost $120 a day for my 3y/o to go to Thredboland this year. I'm still wheezing at that.
Don't they know our bonuses have been cut this year!!!
On a lot of (most?) domestic flights and some budget int'l airlines you pay full adult fare for <2 yo.

Don't they know our bonuses have been cut this year!!! But if they have good teachers that take care of the kids, then ;)

Moving my annoyance (on behalf of my boss) to this thread so as not to continue to hijack Hackett's thread.
LG its $8 cheaper than Perisher - and you get an extra half an hour's worth of instructing.
Perisher have increased the price and cut the on snow time by half an hour (maybe more)!
Thredbo $120 for 9 - 4pm
Perisher $128 for 9.15 to 3.30pm
Gezz I thought it would be a few more years before i was worrying about this stuf - LOL

But the original point of this thread was to have whinge about teenage kids paying adult price for lift passes
And for those with kids in creche at the snow, check if you can claim the childcare rebate. If it's registered childcare you may be able to.
