So with much huffing and puffing I was dragged to see The Tooth Fairy yesterday. No amount of subtle leading wS going to get me to avatar instead. "avatar is cooler...wouldn't you rather see avatar...avatar is on at IMAX...).

Anyhoo. All pain aside and resigned at last to seeing it (not without enlisting help from the ticket seller to no avail), I consoled myself with the prospect of a quick sushi lunch in the mandarin centre food court before the movie. I wasn't expecting much and was surprised when there was a line to get in!

This was the best sushi train style joint I've ever been to. There was a team of 4 or 5 chefs whipping out plate after plate of warm fresh delicious and interesting sushi. As fast as the plates hit the conveyor a bench full of hungry customers (many Japanese) whipped them off. Magnificent delicate sashimi. Seared salmon sushi with wasabi flying fish roe, plump soft California rolls that you can actually fit in your mouth!

In our 15 minute feeding frenzy, me and three kids scoffed off 17 plates. Beastie even licked the flying fish roe off hers!

All fed and watered and paid and just in time to make the movie. (most dissappintes about missing the ads but it was worth it.

The Tooth Fairy was fun!! It wasn't a kids movie with undercurrents of adult humour, it was just a nice movie with a few funny one liners and some good reparties and ( spoiler) a happy ending (yet to see an American kids movie without that! One of The actors was out of The Office and there is a bit of dry humour that was enjoyable without being cheesy or tacky.

On the whole though, it was slightly cheesy but that worked for le yesterday

I've been watching re-runs of my baby and toddler videos - man that was the best time!

I'll have to let the savages loose in the Mandarin Centre (although I fear a major derailment if they get anywhere near the tracks with chopsticks).

I feel your pain re the movie choice. I have my nephews visiting Jindy atm and was hoping to take them to see Avatar. Found out last night they've already seen it twice. :banghead:

As for sushi trains, they're going to have to be content with the california rolls that nephew no. 1 and I are making tomorrow. 17 plates is pretty good Legs! I have a feeling nephew number two is going to need the equivalent of that just for himself. Last night we had sausages for dinner. My brother, nephew no. 1 and I had 8.5 between the 3 of us and newphew no. 2 consumed 7.5 on his own + vegies, mash and bread. Heaven help us when he's a teenager! :eek:

I saw Avitar this week, first time to the movies in about 3 years and back then it was an animated human thingy too.

Avitar = WOW
3D was so good! I actually thought there were dust specks floating in front of me. Lavender was watching it for the second time and she's the one that insisted we go.

Not interested in the Tooth Fairy, I have enough fairy's screwing with my life.

Alice in Wonderland caught my eye. And I'm totaly hooked on 3D now.
