OK so I have ripped the freerides off my skis and have marked up the dynafits....babow, holes are very close (see pic below, this is the toe piece with the front of the ski to the left of the pic)) to the old freeride holes, I have narrowed it down to 2 choices:
1. Use the "super strong" epoxy to fill the old holes and stick with the current position.
2. Mount the dynafits back 5mm.
The skis are 178 G3 Rapid Transit and they have a really long nose as it is, but I am figuring 5mm will make SFA difference!
What do the learned folk here reckon?

Helicoils and mount centre? Hate being too far back, harder to initiate turns.

I think the holes are just that little too far away from the old hole for the Heli coil plug insert, and a shop would have to do them as well.
Epoxy and move back a few mm, may not even have to be 5mm, i think 2-3 would do it.
The harder turn initiation may not be that noticeable, and the gain in stability at speed would be a good trade off, the way JD skis that could be a bonus.

Looks good JD.

Make sure to give yourself a comfortable amount of clearance between the pins and the boot. The boot should slide out sideways reasonably easily without putting sideways force on the pins. Unfortunately I learnt this the hard way :(

Used them on Sunday, the connection to the ski is solid.
I installed them as per the instructions with the provided spacer for the pins sop I hope they are ok. I also put the DIN's one number lower as recommended on wildsnow!
Haven't fallen off them yet to test the release, soon though!

Looks good JD.
I tested the release on my fritschi's on Saturday with girly screams amongst the trees and a call out of, do these things release? ;)

I was er....um...just doing some testing for Fritschie :D
In my defence I did yell out to SA to get the camera out as this was gonna be good.....I had two rollers lined up to straight line down Mary's Slide......it was good, but I went too fast for SA to get any pics graemlins/big_laugh.gif

You've still got your helmet on, so it wasn't a a big effort ;)
Yes it was! Too fast even for the Ricoh with 16 frames in 2 seconds!!
It's probably the fastest I've ever seen JD move*

My skis were set up by a store ski tech in AT so I have no idea of whether or not the spacer was used. It was a powder day so I didn't spend time checking it out before skiing on it. Not sure if it was set up badly or if I managed to apply a force in an odd direction during the crash but I am glad to say it wasn't my knee that broke.

I was on one ski for quite some time, I remember it quite well, the thought was "well at least it's gonna be soft" and it was :D

JD how are the dyna's going!
I skied on my new skis this weekend, using the bindings - sweet!
Only problem, yesterday I had my skis go out from under me, like it was super slippery ice, big hard slamb down. Broke out of bindings, no problem, which is excellent, looked around skis to try and figure out what happened.
Turned out that one of the skidoes lost part of its windscreen into the snow and I hit it. I picked it up and took it down to the lift!
Sore shoulder, neck and hip. Oh well, I suppose that is what they call "hidden objects".
Oh and when you were at DHG yesterday had the large semi trailer moved from the road, there was one stuck there on Saturday.

I didn't go to DHG yesterday, think I heard you guys on the two way today...did you hit DHG?
Good to hear the new skis go well...bad luck about the hidden object
Dyna's are going well!
