As Frog has already mentioned this is the official Snowatch annual get together at a ski resort.

So apart from Frog, CEO and the 2 tadpoles, who else is coming.?

Paul Oberin
20-01-2009, 01:52 PM
I will be there at least 1 most likely 2 days, but I will wait for a Frog weather forecast before deciding which days.

KT
03-02-2009, 09:24 AM
i wonder if we could arrange a deal for all the snowatchers for that week? +1 and i are keen but don't think our friends would join us during peak season......which means we can't stay ski-in ski-out at crackenback since there's just the 2 of us......*sigh* need more friends with money......

The Frog
03-02-2009, 12:34 PM
Maybe if you say how old you both are roughly and where you want to stay and how much you want to pay etc someone might be interested in here to join up.

We are already full with six adults and three kids.

KT

31 and 29 and by april we'll have $950 each to spend~ tongue.gif anyhoo, we normally stay at crackenback with a 3 - 4 friends sharing a 2 bedroom chalet.......not quite ski-in ski-out but we're about 5 mins walk away from the snow which is close enough for us. we're prob looking at doing 5 days (sun to fri), instead of a full week since neither of us enjoys the wkd queues~

One week in August! no no no can't do that, accom is too expensive that time of year. Oh well I'll have to settle with.... living in skijacski's newly renovated apartment for 12 months!
Look out Thredbo spaz is back in town and the snowatch slide has another participant.

The Frog

Good to hear, you do realise you will have to do live reports now.

spaz
25-03-2009, 11:39 PM
I'm going to do much better than that. There's a reason behind moving there, it's not just for the snowatch slide.

The Frog

I can live with pretty crap pay in exchange for a great lifestyle, even if its just for a couple of years.

As for moody... pfft, come work where I do. The managers have made a habit lately of head butting each other almost daily lately over human resourcing issues ie argueing over us the plebs. Came back from long service leave to find more than one person had taken up anti-depressants while I was gone and two others had started looking for outs from my team!

And as for the Snowatchers slide, will likely be there sometime during that week but not the whole week. Will not know for sure until closer to the day but would be keen to meet up for a day or two at Thredbo.

It is not feasible price wise. I look into it every season. A return ski tube ticket for the day + national parks permit + lift ticket makes it an expensive day skiing.

Mr Frog.

As we are now coming into the forecast 'window' for the official 'slide', any thoughts of doing overtime on the next 2 weekends and getting an updated 1-7 and 8-14 day forecast out over the weekend?

Just a thought

Where is the 'please, pretty please' emoticon. ;)

The Frog

I do enough overtime as it is. Weekends are family time. Any major changes in the forecasts are usually posted on the twitter page (even on weekends).

Maybe I could just posted some forecast comments in this thread just for the sliders. smile.gif

I am pretty easy to Identify at Hotham, but at Thredders I think its a good idea to wear a different jacket!!

I'll be taking the tadpole to his private lesson each morning so will be hard to get early. After his lesson I will spend some time skiing with him and then drop him off with the inlaws. Probably won't be skiing around with everyone til about 11-12.

On a different note;

Is any one interested in doing lunch at Merritts private dinning room?
It's +1's birthday on the 11th and she has expressed a desire to eat there. I think to book it you have to pay for 12 people at $65 per head, she doesn't have that many friends here so I'm inviting people I've never met smile.gif

It's the best dinning experience in Thredbo.

Change of plans; Barcoo has decided to do a dinner/gathering at his place all snowatches are invited, children welcome (Pink Princes will be there).

We are leaving in the morning and should be in Thredbo later tomorrow arvo. I'll hang a snowatch banner from our balcony at 'On the Snow/Ski in Ski Out' which is on the last left hand turn at the bottom of the Crackenback Supertrail.

I will be on the net so anyone who needs my mobile just send me a PM or email or post in here. I have a brown patterned Scott suit (matching) with black helmet that has large snowatch on the front and back. Missus frog will be in a white Orage ensemble with pattern on it and white helmet (will probably be invisible on the slopes).

Was getting the tadpole (4 year old) off at the top of the gunbarrel lift and my gloves got stuck (that were clipped to my jacket) and ended up going back around. Had to go down the bottom and see if they came around on the lift, which they didn't. Went back up and found them under the lift about two thirds up. had to ski under the lift to get them (in roped off area - didn't want to but only way to get them). Got them easy enough although that area was a bit dodgy.

Anyone that want's to meet up tomorrow post is in here and I will see it in the morning.

Punter moment frog? Someone else here had the best punter moment of all time - for someone who has skied for 35 years ;)

Barcoo and I are doing an early lift, we plan to meet at snocam just after 8. Those that don't know how to get on a chair or get off with all their gear are welcome.

After that I will be editing and uploading video until 10:30/11 then +1 and PP will be skiing with us. (it's +1's birthday)

Nah, the rain drove me away (home) to finish some yard duties, namely a retaining wall. Your report today 13/8 for next Monday/Tuesday sounds ok and I am hoping that we see a settled period of weather for a couple of days so I can continue some walking/sliding out the back.
