Does anyone know of cheap places to stay for 3 months in a Japan ski resort? I would also be interested in staying in a place that employs people to work for Rent and Food instead of pay?
we hithced a ride with an aussie guy doing just that this year in Hakuba, I think the place he was working at may have been Rainbow hotel or something (cant really remeber but it was one of the hotels)

Have you looked into long term stays in backpacker hostels?
I have heard there is one in Asahikawa where you can stay for 3 months.

Kamui is the closest. (about 20-30 mins away)
If you had a car, you are not that far from pippu, asahidake, kurodake and I think Furano is about an hr away.
From what I hear, there are a few other smaller hills scattered around the place which are uncrowded.
