well hello everyone,
we've arrived safe and sound and spent the first 2-3 days at Heavenly at a friend of pods's and explored all heavenly has to offer without fresh snow, nice views, fantastic groomers and if you're into bumps, BIG bumps then you'd be in heaven. the Face is ranked as one of the top 2 bump runs in the US/Northern America and looking at it from the tram it certainly deserves the title
Sticking to our plan of go where it's snowing, we checked out the weather last night and this morning and decided Mammoth was the go. As we drove into town late this afternoon it was snowing and has become very heavy, 6 inches on the hill so far and they are predicting up to 24 inches by sat morning. graemlins/woohoo.gif
We've both got a bit of a cold, and there's only 1 in our group of 4 who doesn't have any cold symptoms. Not stopping us though, we're out there tomorrow for freshies :D
Booked for 2 nights, though might need to stay sat depending on how well they clear the roads :D :D
After that...... watch this space as the storms are lining up..... we have no idea, though it's looking highly likely we won't head to BC, rather we'll head on over to utah, Wyoming or colorado or all 3 graemlins/skier.gif
no pics, maybe some after tomorrow

Mammoth was mammoth, booked out Sat night for anything we could afford, and another storm is about to arrive in South Lake Tahoe, so we're back at heavenly. Skied Kirkwood today, nice resort, steeps were nice, but crowded and icy for the US. First place we've hit lift lines! :(
It would go off in pow as the steeps are so easily accessible ie lifts for intermediate runs end lower, but next to it is a lift that goes higher, so you don't get too many gumbies on a lift. Old chairs, slower chairs, no 6 packs but it was well worth it. Easy drive from heavenly, and the on hill accommodation looked nice and reasonably priced from what I hear.
Pics up shortly, just need to upload them

Snowbasin rocks.
20 inches Monday/Tuesday. We arrive for a ski Wednesday morning. It had started snowing again after clearing for a bit Tuesday afternoon/night. Dumping by lunchtime, freshies everywhere. Came back again Thursday despite no fresh snow Wednesday night. Freshies everywhere again just with a few traverses and sidesteps up into trees :D

Oh and I forgot this one, after skiing the day at Canyons this week at the base of the Gondola at the carpark, we were offered two passes to any resort for 20bucks. So we signed up and went back up to the Westgate resort for a 60minute demonstration, paid the 20bucks at the base, and got two Deer Valley passes - bargain.
And no we are not interested in Vacation membership, they are a ripp off and we felt like free food and drinks and the promo sh!t.
You had a choice as to which resort in the area too, but we thought, most expensive! Deer Valley. If people offer you cheep tickets that's what they are selling.
Otherwise go to the Sports Den on Foothills Drive, at Foothills shops and buy your tickets really cheap there.

believe me, we have pics and some vid, it was seriously the best day skiing in my life! fresh runs after lunch over the same ground we'd tracked out before lunch, doesn't get much better than that smile.gif

The top section of Nevada just reported that they had over 6 feet, yep SIX FEET of fresh powder in two days, closed all the roads etc.
Utah had a nice slam last night and expect it to fall until next week.
You really need to be in the areas for more than two weeks, - so I suggest that everyone just goes skiing in the USA or their favourite place for 3 months!
