Anyone flown with China airlines. Their prices are so much cheaper than any of the others. Is it worth the extra dollars to fly with say Qantas? or are China airlines ok?. Looking at flying from Sydney to Sapporo.

Cheers

I think Xena flew with them very recently. Check out her trip report in this forum.

you could get a cheap flight to tokyo and then use these sites to source a cheap tokyo to sapporo flight. Just a suggestion.

I flew with them ast year. No dramas. Service was fine. You have to stop over in Taipei on the way over.
Best service ever had on an airline Singapore Airlines.
Worst service Qantas.
Could be just the luck of the draw though. smile.gif

China Airlines - I would definitely do again! PM me for specifics.

Ignore that pic - scare tactic. Many airlines crash, but when you look at the statistics of number of crashes per number of flights for the airline, China Airlines ain't any worse off than most others. China Airlines is often confused for other Chian air companies eg Air China or China Eastern and labelled with their bad track records as well. Some published photos are actually fake ones to disrepute a company too -

eg.

This website has quite a few fake photos.

However, I am not advocating that China Airlines is safer than others - I am just saying that I flew them - I am still alive, it was very cheap and yet, service was good, food was ok, planes were normal and NO delays.

I flew on a China Airlines plane in Vietnam last year. It was a domestic flight going from Saigon to Da Nang and it was this giant A330!
It was great, the plane was modern and the service was great, although they were Vietnam Airlines air host/esses.

fyi, bestflights refer to flights over Feb/March 09 from most Aust cities to Tokyo on Qantas and then to the US on AA for around $1200A.

Delta has some $1100+tax deal.
