Ok it has been years since we went overseas and back then it was only 2 of us so it was quite easy to carry those on us all the time. Now it is 6. What do you families that more regularly go overseas do with your passports?

Do you lug them around in pouches on your person?

Do you entrust the security of the place you are staying at to leave them there?

Beware of time lock safes.

A mate of mine put his travel docs in a safe after being warned to keep them secure. As a result of a minor miscalaulation on the time he missed his transfer and had to make his own way to the next destination to pick up his tour. :D

Just leave them in our rooms. Not just lying around on tables but packed within luggage/backpacks although certainly not hidden.

I have them with me most of the time in a pocket in my camera bag or back pack, if there is a room safe at the hotel I leave them there. Never a hassel as you find you need ID a lot in particular in the US they are always asking for it even to enter theme parks or to see a show in Vegas.

Hotel safe in the room in most cases!

Otherwise hidden in my suitcase among dirty underwear smile.gif

We took ours in our video camera bag or in a 'disco' bag - a small bag that I wore over my neck and shoulder that is big enough to fit cash, credit card and passports only. While skiing, I left them packed in an onboard luggage bag with a padlock, key on my person.
