Hasn't our PM come out with a few crackers lately....

"fair shake of the sauce bottle"

Has anyone actually heard someone use that in real life? It sounds like the PM is trying much too hard to me....

The trouble with the PM saying it (to me anyway) is that it just doesn't sound genuine. It sounds like he's desperately trying to seem like "one of the people"... but he's just not! I've noticed it a few times before... I can't think of any other specific examples though.

fair share of the sauce bottle?
sauce bottle?
why sauce bottle?
why kevin? why?

Why not pie, or cake, or something that gets segmented? No one ever goes 'hey, you've had more than your fair share of tomato sauce.'

Chances are most politicians are 'normal' when they're with people they feel comfortable with, away from the cameras and mikes, in small groups. And beer talk about footy won't be their cup of tea. The most stimulating evening I had was over champagne with Cherrie Blair and Geoffrey Robertson chatting on ethics, hiding stuff, moneylaundering and counter terrorism. But ask them who won the footy and uum, all they knew was Manly sux.

Maybe his scriptwriters have watched too many episodes of 'Home & Away' repeats.
