Hey Paul, and other wise ones.

I demo'd these skis during the week, along with the 78s. I was very impressed with them, and saw that you sell them. I was on 167's both time, and felt they were long enough to give me decent float and still be pretty chuckable through the trees around north perisher.

These would be a second pair of skis to add to my rossi z5 162's. The fact that my rossis are so short might be why i was so comfortable on the 167s. Anyhow, the fischers would be a ski to take to japan and australia when the powder is on, so i am not sure they would be long enough.

I am around 177cms tall, and around 88kgs, hoping to get lighter by another 3-4 kgs before Japan in feb.

So i guess the question is, will the 167s be too short for me (they seemed a long 167 if you know what i mean), and for paul, do you have some in stock, what bindings do you recommend, and how much (in a private message!)

thanks all!

Probably could get some more, I do have one set in stock at the moment, but I have a sale for them already so the guy says. they are wide so they don't need to be all that long and would be great for Japan as well as here.
I am out of the shop all day tomorrow and at Falls Creek, but on Wednesday I can get back to you with avaiability.
Great skis though.

I have ordered them already, if you don't buy them someone else will, they are the hottest selling ski around at the moment and I didn't see it coming.

Tomorrow I should remember as the skis will arrive and I will be wondering who they are for.
Sorry, the shop is much busier this season and I am working much harder than normal, I only just got home from work then.

So I need some advice rather urgently.

Does anyone out there in skier land think the 176's will be too long for me? I can't get hold of the 167s, but i am thinking the extra length will be good for me given i am 88kgs. I found some 176 length k2 apaches a little awkward at times in Niseko, but that might be because i normally ski a rediculously short rossi (162).

Anyway so what i am looking for is to be convinced that the 176 length will be fine for me, maybe even better for soft snow, and that i should just get them...

thoughts anyone? graemlins/skier.gif graemlins/cold.gif

A ski doesn't really know how tall you are, but it knows how much you weigh and how aggresively you ski. For softer snow I would be more comfortable with the longer ski. The issue you had in Japan may be more to do with the ski's stiffness rather than its length.

Thanks Taxi, I have told paul i will get it. I think you are right, the longer ski will be good and they are way lighter than the k2s.

Hooray for Paul, no one else had them, and he has kept me in the loop as he got hold of Fischer etc.

I got to try out my new Fischer skis today for the first time as well.
Best ski I have ever used in my opinion, even better than the previous version.

I managed to get a set of the new shape Fischer RC4 Sc Pro skis, quite a few changes in the 2009 model and the previous version have been my favourite skis now for about 5 years, I was quite worried when the 2009 models turned up and thought I may have made a mistake selling the 2008 set I had here for myself, but now I am very happy.
Best ski I have ever tried in my opinion as an all round do everything ski.
Big bumps. powder, crud, ice, racing gates, off piste or on, this is as good as you will ever find.
