Hi all!
Just wondering - my partner and I are hitting Thredbo for a week in August and he is nearly 7 feet tall. Just wondering whether there are any brands of ski pants known to cater to the very long-legged? Boots for a size 15 are another story however Thredbo Ski Hire has assured me they have those for hire... Then all I need is dinner-plate-diameter gloves!

If anyone could help I would be so grateful!

I'm 6'3" and don't have any problem with my pants (other than keeping them on...) and I'm not sure it matters too much as the boots are mid-shin high. Just try to match the colours of boots and pants and nobody will notice.

Boots are available in size 15 but choice is very limited. Dalbello used to make some and I'm sure the hire places will have them. Alpine Resort Ski Hire have a couple if ya get stuck.

Boots don't come much bigger than size 15 so if they don't fit, he's in big (excuse the pun) trouble... :D :D

I know Obermeyer make a long version of some of their models

Has he a colour in mind? I've got some XL Brown pants which are super long if that helps

What are the Chutes like?

Are they worth the hike out?

They'd be better in good snow that's for sure. My first time down them was last season, and it was a definite no-fall zone...

It's not a real hard hike out. Only about 20-25 mins

I dunno, XL might be too big around the waist, he's only like a size 36-38... would they be too big? I'm a girl so I don't know a whole lot about men's clothes sizing.

He is snowboarding so I phoned ahead to make sure there were boots big enough and they have ONE PAIR which I have "booked" for the week. Qld Health are generously backpaying me finally too so worst comes to worst I can purchase some. Poor fella - being tall makes things so difficult especially when you forget to duck all the time! ;)

Excuse my ineptitude - I can't find them in that section! Could you point me in the right direction somehow? Sorry!

They look fab - I will have a chat to him tonight and I've printed the pictures out. They look fairly long I'm sure it'll be fine.

We (unbelievably) have a ski/surf/snow shop here but the service is appalling - when I asked about long snowboard pants the salesman stated that he "had no idea" and that my partner should just "try some on or look online or whatever". I go crazy for good customer service but it goes the other way too, fairly disappointing - you'd think they'd be really keen to grab every sale they can considering the nature of their stock vs the climate they're located in! Haha..

EDIT: You guys have some weird word filters! smile.gif

Thanks for that, I will get back to you ASAP regarding the pants.

Yeah that place is bizarre, I can't imagine they would have enough sales to have that attitude in a place like Rockhampton. Silly people.
