What bindings should I get for my 80mm waist twin tip skis?
I've had a knee recon and would like to be safe, but also want a trust worthy binding. I'm light weight but go bigger and faster than I possibly should. I guess I'd be ranked advanced(for Australian standards), I've skied since 8, now 36 for a week a year on average.
Thanks for your help, sorry for another ignorant question.
Looks, salomons?? Never had an issue with these.
Im 152 tall and abt 60kgs.
My latest Dukes. May be a one off but I had a really low speed. everywhere angle slide and these did not release, cue sore leg that day and blood bucket the next (obvious sprain ignored). So these may not suit.

The safest binding by far is / was any of the turntable bindings by Rossignol / Look but they stopped making them for all but one model (FKS) I did a blurb on why they are the safest on the website www.mthotham.com.au (http://www.mthotham.com.au) tech talk, if you read that you will buy a turntable over all other bindings especially if your knees are not 100% or you intend doing some jumps.

I know you hate me contributing to any of your threads without prior approval but i would consider the look px12.
(Agreed with Paul in that the P series or FKS are safer due to pivot/turntable heel but it is almost impossible to find any FKS120's (Plus the brakes are too narrow for your skis and you can't get replacement brakes - so they have to be bent), the Pivot series are findable and come with an 80mm stock brake.
Most other consumer bindings will come with an 80mm brake, so you could look at the Salomon Z12, STH12, Look PX12/Rossi Axial2 120
The px12 has stacks of elastic travel plus multidirectional toe release which could be a good thing for your knee.
Perhaps PM Mtbpeteski - i think he has some older look p12's he is selling.

Any info on that Paul? FKS120 is my ideal binding - turntable heel, plus upward toe release (unlike the 155/185)

I have no idea what you mean here, you are most welcome to post anytime in any thread, you don't need my permission, and I welcome your feedback, we may not always agree on certain things, but your opinion is still good to have and just as important as anyone else's, I am not always right and I only post my thoughts on things as I see them, that doesn't mean others can't post a differing opinion.
I do still have a good selection of Look P12 and P14 bindings in stock at reduced prices, it is sad they no longer make this very good binding, simply because it didn't work well with any of the current binding interface systems.

i totally agree with silence and paul re. the turntables. if you can find some fks you can take them to a metal worker and they should be able to widen the brakes for you for a 6 pack. 80mm is not too far from the stock width so they should be able to do it no dramas and it won't look poxy. if not, i can also highly recommend the p series. Paul has some in stock, also look under Rossi Axial (100, 120, 140) same bindings just rossi badged, and a couple of guys on here have some second hand. given the knee i'd probably recommend the p10 (i have them on my anthems) or the p12. they come with an 80mm brake which wasn't actually too far off fitting my 93 waist anthems.
