Full tilt has the original raichle moulds now...

i know you can get them at bumps in elsternwick now... they are distributed by the same guys who have K2 so theoretically... k2 dealers should be able to get them if they dont already...

Actually.....to expand on the problem with my existing boots is that the left boot shell juts down bringing pressure to my left big toe causing bruising to the toe anil to the point it was black/purple for 2 months after (not to mention the discomfort while skiing). Anyway that's the situation......all good

Isn't the Dalbello Krypton the successor to the Flexon?

I believe full tilt (k2) bought the actual moulds when Raichle failed to keep it going with Dachstein in Austria and the Full Tilt boots are virtually the same old tried and true Flexon comp. I think the kryptons ( Dalbello) were designed by Plake with the Flexon comp tongue specifics because Dalbello still owns the rights to the design.

So basically my take on the whole thing is that Full Tilt have the original flexon moulds, and Dalbello have the rights to design based on Raichle..

Bottom line, you compare a pair of flexons and a pair of full tilts and they will be almost identical, the kryptons are very close, identical tongue etc but with a different buckle system

I do have some old stock of original Raichle in the shop, it would be cheap now. I don't have the RX6 anymore but do have the Flexon comp, and the newer F1.

I will have to check what sizes I have, I know I have a 9.5 and some others, I would have a 10.5 in the F1, I will pm you tomorrow.

bugger Paul, What size Flexon comps do you have? Bumble bee or the hot pinks?

OK this is what I have in the shop in old Raichle.

The newer version called the F1 in sizes 28.0, 28.5 and 29.0

The one called Original Flexon in Pink/Yellow in size 28.5 which is a 10.5, and also in a size 9, then I have one set of Extremes in a size 9.5.

These shells seem to attract a bit of a cult following. Why's that Paul?

What kinds of feet are suited to them?

What kinds of feet are suited to them? Apart from the pink and yellow ones, they are both narrow last and low in the instep, so they suit long skinny feet with flat or low instep, this rules out 90% of the population, although a good boot fitter can make them fit most people.
They were / are such a good boot due to a progressive flex compared to other boots that go from zero to stiff in regards to flex with nothing in between.
If you watch World cup and Olympic mogul skiing almost every competitor is using them, which would be "Full tilt" these days.

The Pink / Yellow one is much wider and also higher at the instep.

I am selling all of them at the one price of $250, which is about half what I paid for them.

Sounds like the boots that would fit my foot profile would be too small...shame really the price is good..& I live along way from the shop...

ahh I didn't realise the pink and yellow flexon comps were wider... Mine were the *ahem* Junior flexon comp pink and yellows in a 24 I think or 23.5... snug fit!

SA - go to the full tilt website, there's a great video there of how the FT's bend with comparative footage (no pun intended) of a standard non flexon style boot.

The FT or Raichle style flexon's bend rather than bulge due to the outer tongue design. You can also swap the outer plastic tonuges to get different stiffness!

They do look good. Must keep them in mind when I next go boot shopping!

so long as your feet match the boot ;)

So, Paul, I have to ask......

No 31.5 or 32's (size 13 shoe)???

My old Flexon Comp's are packed out badly! Also have some Flexon Equipes which I used last season, but they're not quite the same boot...

I looked at the Dalbello Kryptons last year, and I knew they were the boot for me just looking at them! Kinda had the right shape, like Raichles...

Yep, my feet are long, narrow, but with an arch.

Boot surgery required 2 or 3 times on average to get them perfect... Well, it used to be! With Sidas, MasterFit etc... it would be once only I'd imagine!

No big sizes like a 31.5 / 32.0, and yes most good fitters can get it right in one go if really needed, for locals I try to make small adjustments more often, as this usually gives a more precise fit, but for those from out of town I can just give the boot one decent nudge in the right area, and that usually gets it.

i have spoken to doug briefly about AT boots... and have heard several people speak highly of him and ollie!

i believe pauls comment is more tongue in cheek in reference to the amount of work that would be needed to get my messed up foot into a raichle boot... he has done a bucket load to the atomics he put me into last season!
