Are my skis too long for me?

Sorry for another silly question.
I have some 177 Bandits(old orange ones),and some 171 1080s.
I'm 5'10 and only 67kg.
I find the Bandits hard work for the first day back,but on the second day they seem good,and I can go real fast and big(for me) with confidence.
I found the 1080s fun at slow stuff,but offered me no confidence at speed.
So I just bought some K2 Public Enemies 179(I like going switch). But after reading up a bit,I really think they're going to be too big for me,they come up over my eyebrow. The base(the flat bit) is probably about the same length or a touch shorter than the Bandits. Have I made a mistake and should I sell them while they're still new and buy shorter skis?
Sorry for what may be a stupid question,but I just am not sure what I'm doing really.

just remember twin tips ski shorter, my skis are twinnies and are about equal to my height, havent had a problem yet. u will be fine

btw, ur skinny. paul and that will know more, they can help u. but the above is my opinion

K2 Measure short - so the 179s are actually more like a 182 compared to other companies that quote 179cm

Mount forward of recommended and all should be fine. I don't have a k2 scale (core centre/midsole reference etc here, but that should be ok somewhere around 4cm back from true centre)

My skis are close to my height and no problems here.

i think with twins it's better to go too long than too short because you lose a bit cos of the twin and some more cos of the centre (or close to centre) mount. for what it's worth i just bought some new anthems at 178 (like 5cm shorter than me) and i'm more worried about them being too short than too long.

Turtle I think that sounds fine... i have a similar set up (i'm 173cms tall and i ride 169 K2 Missdemeanours). I find them really hard work to begin with too, but after a couple of days back into it, it's all good. i think the first couple of days are hard work no matter what! I also have some 163 Rossi B2s, but now i actually prefer the extra length of the Missys.

Within reason (and skill) it's a matter of personal preference.

Doesn't sound like too much of a problem Turtle. If u want to use the ski for mainly the park I'd recommend mounting the skis 2cm back from center, gives good swing weight in the air and very good stability switch. Rail balance will also be improved. The ski will still behave like an all mountain ski thought it will take u a day or so to get used to the extra tail length. In pow, stay a bit more on the tails and use the length there, too much forward pressure will se you become a cartwheel king.

I am 152 tall and around 62kg (yeah I know)

Im advanced not expert. I ski with (tall) guys all day mostly off piste. They are much faster than me.

I have three pairs of skis. Elan carvers, Public enemys and Phat luvs. They are ALL 160-165. That is way taller than me.

I keep up (and for me this is super important), I can also handle them.

My US experience this year is skis are longer and fatter. Yeah I know thats different to Aus but there is a weird obsession here with ski length that I didn't witness there. (at high intermediate and above).

Just an observation, but you skiis don't know how tall you are, but they know how much you weigh and how aggresively you ski.

I'm just shy of 180cm. Or 5'10 as mentioned.
Edit,oh sorry I mis read your post, yeah my skis don't know, however there's leverage in height.

Many people still go by the old generalisation (when skis were straight) of the longer the skis the better the skier.

Twins are straighter than most skis though. ~20m radii
