Nutter, you've go to try some Stormrider XXL's. Finally got them dialed in when skiing them in Kashmir, they are just awsome crud busters off-piste and ski like a GS ski on-piste.

just checked the dimensions of the xxl and the xl... and they are the same on the page frog...
don't really need the xxl... my rossi phats are awesome in the crud and softer snow, and the xl doesn't do a bad job either...
The laser SL might be on the cards for this year though if i can find the cash...

What bindings to Stoeckli couple with their skis?

My Stormrider XL's have Marker M11 Titaniums (no plate), the Stormrider XXLs have Marker Dukes and the Laser SC (when I get them) will be mounted with either Tyrolia Railflex or Vist Speedlock bindings.

Rednut that got fixed about the time you posted. smile.gif
I think most of the stoeckli's have marker bindings. My Rotar 76's do and missus frog will be getting some new Stoeckli's this year with markers as well.

The bindings that you would end up with on your Stoeckli skis, unless you have a specific preference, would usually be a matter of what bindings the store have in stock.
I think Silence's question was along the lines of do Stoeckli skis have system or hostage bindings, the way many Volkl and K2 skis are tied to Marker or Atomic to Neox. The answer is no.
Because Stoeckli produce all of their skis "flat", you are not tied to any binding manufacturer. You are at liberty to put any binding you want on your Stoeckli skis.

I know they come as flat skis but the prices in the equipment guide are inclusive of bindings so i was wondering which bindings they actually came with or is that discretionary..

Silence, You would need to check with the Stoeckli Demo Centre as they are adding the bindings. Last year Fred Guyer at Snowbiz (the Stoeckli importer) was leaning towards Salomon Z series, the year before that, Marker.
I doubt it would be discretionary.

Yeah I doubt it would be discretionary too!!
Thanks, No way I can afford $1500 on some planks.

I've never paid anywhere near RRP for Stoeckli skis and I'm happy to buy second hand/demos in good nick. My Stormrider XXL's (which you have seen) cost less with Marker Dukes, probably around $1400 all up (including the binding mount by John at Alp Sports, which was done by hand as there was no Duke jig in Australia). Probably due to building agood relationship with a store and being a repeat customer.

I got my Rotar 76 skis from Fred Guyer at Snow Bizz in Jindy and the bindings from Richard at Stoeckli demo shop at Hotham, and Fred mounted them for me on the spot as I was passing through Jindy last year. Very good skis, maybe a bit too good for me.

Was upstairs in the tech room and they were the first pair of Dukes I had seen in the flesh..I examined them in length!

Fred has looked after me over the past couple of years with skis. The Stormrider XXL's which I got last year were pre-production skis. As production of the consumer XXLs hadn't started before the beginning of our ski season, Fred sourced a pair that were made for the trade shows and had them flow out from Switzerland. No extra charges. Now that is service.

Guy the Stoeckli Demo Centre is running with mainly Marker bindings this year. IF client wish we can put just about any binding on. Just let us know.
