I love my Atomic B90's, but I'm a giiiiiirl.

I can't recommend Snowbound at Chatswood highly enough. Jeff fitted my boots. Checked out my foot, leg length, arch etc, then went away and gave me three to try on before finding the prefect fit and customising the footbed.

He is very informative as he goes, they have good videos for you to zone out to while all the fussing goes on.

They were around $600.

Diabellas are $350

Get the to a (reputable) bootfitter.

Personal recommendations :

John Morgan - STM Bondi Junction
John ?? (Silence to help here) - Alpsports West Ryde
Richard Mould - Eiger Jindabyne

I also hear that Paul fella from Albury that posts here from time to time is pretty good.

Don't buy boots by brand, but by what suits your foot shape. The bootfitter will then make them perfect. This is not an off the shelf exercise, so book ahead and be prepared to spend a few hours in the shop (and possible follow up visits).

Have to agree with Taxman, get something that suits your foot.

Bought a pair of Head Edge10+ last year, only reason I choose them was they were the only ones that didn't hurt when I tried to get my feet in or out of them. Had them customised with the footbeds and adjusted then used them for five full days straight without any problems.

Just me just over $500 even though they were on special at the time.

custom footbeds make the world of difference... you'll think about sleeping in them

TC have you had those boots professionally fitted?

The brand that fits the best, is the best ;)

I have Dalbello's which is what I assume you have. They fit really well, however now my feet are reacting to them so I have to keep having them blown out :(

I guess that's what you get for skiing 6 weeks straight ;) (last season, not this one).

TC make an appointment with a shop close to where you live as in Sydney, but make sure that the shop is known for boot fitting, I know John Morgan is out of your way at STM at Bondi Junction but would be well worth the small trip. There are also other good boot fitters as mentioned already such as Snowbound and ESS in Sydney.
Don't shop on price or brand, a good well fitted set of boots will see your skiing really improve and be comfortable at the same time, even though it may take a few return visits to the boot fitter.

John Morgan from STM is also a supporter of this site. He says he is going to register in here so he can give some bootfitting tips. Take the missus and the kids shopping at westfield Bondi Junction and nick off to the shop.

and as for Dalbellos being cheap, missus frog found the most expensive in the country...I'm sure we paid around $800 but she loves them.

I wear Dalbello at the moment, they have been very good over the past few years, but I am about to get some new Tecnica's, hopefully also a good boot and a new model for next year.

You have the perfect advice here
Let the bootfitter fit the right boot for you.
The only thing I would like to add don't get cheap when it comes to boots. You can save move elsewhere (like the pub) Whenever I get new shoes whether it's ski boots or runners I don't look at price I look for fit and function.
Good luck and enjoy your season..

TC try Wilderness in George Street Liverpool (just down from westfields).
The people there have a pretty good idea of what they are doing.

i bought my first board, boot, bindings from wilderness, was a VERY enjoyable experience. not rushed, very professional, were handling like a million people at once, yet still felt like i was given individual service. prices were actually not too bad, last seasons stuff pretty discounted (unlike most places that try and flog it off at full wack). They were more than willing to bargain aswell, so hit em up for a discount! They do the little stuff too, like once bought, if u want they'll set up your board, throw in a leash, stomp pad etc aswell, just makes life a bit easier.

p.s. tc, are you looking at ski or board boots? i thought ski from the thread... i was (obviously) talking bout board

John at STM is a very nice fellow TC, and he also knows what he is doing, and makes a nice footbed.

Well worth the trip to Bondi.

The Beast 10 was replaced with the Speedmachine 10 a few years back now, both very good boots in my opinion.

Thats where im looking TC I've heard and been to the store. I bought a Jacket from there about 8 years ago. They have good products and they don't have the city or eastern suburb prices. I've never bought boots from them so don't know about there fitting or after sale service. I get my from wilderness in Liverpool.

All the stores in Australia that have really good boot fitting services offer a fit guarantee, those that are not confident enough about their fitting expertise don't.
If the shop has a guarantee, you are not taking any risk when buying from them, this is a very simple way of finding out who the better boot fitting shops are.
