I'm in London at the moment so far I've brought -

A beanie
Grenade gloves x 2

Looking at buying a board or two in Japan this time next week. Will def buy one as mine current board will be too short. Will buy the other one later in the year if I don't get it in Japan.

New boots are on the list for this year also as probably some new goggles.

Maybe a new jacket, depends on how much gear whoring I want to do.

Actually this list is getting pretty long now, why did you get me thinking about such things?

I may need some new boots, depends on how much weight I lose. I got some AT bindings that I am going to put on some AR5's so I will need to get skins too :D

Bought new board and bindings last year so this year i think it's just new gloves and jacket.

Maybe one with bluetooth and MP3 earpiece built in. I think Burton does one. Anyone got one? Are they any good?

Then again could also walk out of the shop with a whole new set up as well!

Foam injected boots. Flex 110. Dual cuff adjustment. Adj. forward lean. Custom footbed. Now I realise how packed out my old boots were and how much better is the dual cuff adjustment over the single before. And cat-tracks of course.

Tadpole is getting some cool new Columbia gear. He can't wait for it to arrive (the baby to be's snow suit arrived last week, so he was a bit upset by that).

I've got my fingers crossed for some Orage gear and new scott poles. Since I got my super new boots last year I think that might be it, although I do need some new skis - Hint hint Frog!

I bought a Goretex soft shell today from Rapies for 25000 yen, a great price' although I do feel a bit guilty for not supporting the Australian ski industry this one time. ;)

Gloves - probably OR goretex ones with removable fleece inners
BD Flicklocks - the carbon fibre ones
Skis - still tossing up between SL and a large sidecut mid-fat (eg. Sally Xwing Tornado)
Soft-shell - already got it, 25000Yen was a great price :D

That's probably it :D

Avalanche kit (Pack, Beacon, Probe & Shovel)
Skins
Beanie
Grenade Gloves x 2

To get list -
Board x 2
Boots
Goggles
Jacket (maybe)

I wonder what I'll end up with after Japan this month.

Dump Volkl AC3 (too close to Stockli Stormrider XL). Looking for a good home, open to offers.

Additions for 2008:

1. Stockli Laser SC or SG. Need (want?) a dedicated ski for running gates;

2. Light weight AT ski for touring (possibly a Stockli Pit Pro, Atomic Sugar Daddy....); and

3. A genuine pow ski for Kamchatka in 2009. Possibly a Volkl Gotama.

Off-loading the AC3 and binning the Salomon Axendo 8 will keep the quiver of skis to 6.

I'd love to get a pair of Stockli Stormrider XXL's. I'm a bit torn between those and another pair of Public Enemy's. Just depends where I want to go with my skiing I guess.

Oh and possibly a new jacket for me. Ez Power is going to get a whole new setup - skis, boots, poles...the works.

Took the Elan 888 Alu to Canada.. possibly the best in bound Pow ski on the market. VERY impressed. The western Canada Ski patrollers kept stoping me to check them out!

Thinking of getting the new Ingemar Stenmark designed Elans to replace the Speedwaves

POC Skull Light XP Helmet

Can't comment of the PE's but the XXL's is an excellent ski (possibly my favourite). A very good option for an Oz off-piste ski as it has just enough float in the deep, bashes crud and sastrugi without being deflected and has excellent edge hold on ice. Fred Guyer (Stockli in Jindabyne) had a pair for demo last year. Definately give them a try.

Whenever I go past there I can see them there, staring back at me, saying 'Buy me! Buy me!'

How do you think they would go in an AT setup? Not too heavy?

Taxman

I had mine mounted with Freeride +, now replaced with Dukes. Although I took them to BC-SIC in September, they are a slack country rig as they are too heavy for serious touring (unless of course you are uber fit).

Bear

Need (want)

new skis (around 75-80 mm under foot)

New board (option redline me thinks)

New board boots

Bought a shinny new jacket in Japan for some reason  so that's all good but could do with a new shell only. :D

Thanks Bear. I dont remember it but it has been a while since we were in Hakuba. I also remember having an enjoyable time having to hire things in Hakuba when we went there. Was when we first started skiing and had to hire clothes. We ended up in a Black, and a Purple one piece suit they scrapped up from some random store on the other side of town.
Still have the photos to prove it but will never post on here!!!

The start of '08 has been good to me gear wise, my fav would have to be the Buron T6 with Burton CO2 bindings. Closely followed by the Public Enemy 174 skis and Rossi Bandit boots. :D

Lots of other goodies were added to the list in Japan.

Wife and I are in Breckenridge for the entire snow season (not working so we are full time bums here!) so have bought a few things such as:
* 3 pairs each of Oakley A Frame goggles with different lens for varying conditions (hey we are here for long enough we can justify it!)
* Burton AK Jacket for wife
* Burton AK pants for wife (I had 2 outfits so she demanded the same
* Salomon Malamute boots for moi (my bloody Burton Ion boots packed out after 10 days - will NEVERbuy Burton boot again)
* Salomon Optima boots for wife
* etc etc...

God knows how we are going to ship all this home but will worry about that when the time comes... Board sales are coming up so who knows what else is going on the plastic....

Might buy another outerwear set if I see something I like and see how the boots are holding up.

Try the 1800 ski sale people, they seem to have cheap stuff. I believe you there is a ski re-use it center in West Ryde on Victoria Rd, but I can't comment cos I haven't been. On here is a used gear forum, it might be useful!

I would think it would depend on what you want the tent for to what tent would be right for you. I have a Marmot Swallow, it's a great tent but it is way to heavy for BC use

Tamsy
11-02-2008, 09:20 PM
i wont be going BC...... maybe 1 day.... so weight is not an issue really, just something that will be good enough for the possibles of snow and strong winds, so i got some work to do deciding what is going to be the best for what i want to do. smile.gif

also getting boots in a couple of months (waiting for paul to get in his new stock).

Late last year bought new ski jackets for myself and +1 (went costly and bought spyder..though thankfully on sale).
Picked up new goggles in canada (got there and noticed my foam was stuffed), also bought new gloves.
