Marker Dukes

So I'm off to Utah/JH next week for 3 weeks. Have lined up a very sweet deal on some K2 Phat Luvs (yes they're not my first choice but it's my third ski and the price was more than good).

All that aside. I'm now after bindings and I love the sound of a Marker Duke-Slack country is my limit. But they are very exxy and I am pretty light (max 7.5 DIN).

So is there an AT out there, 98% alpine ((this is V.V important-short hikes only on my "everyday" big mountain (ie non Aus ski))...

that can cut it with the Duke at my level (again max 7.5 din)... or do I buy these monsters??

I would really love the input or I am buying these nearly 1.4kg rocks.

TB, as far as I'm aware, no other AT binding comes close to the Duke in matching it's release performance. Basically the Duke is a Jester with an adjustable front ADF pad and mounted on a switchable AT plate.

The DIN range for this beastie is 6 to 15, so light weights need not apply.

You could also look at the Naxo N21 or the Fritschi Freeride + (or Alpine Trekkers!!!). I can't comment on the Naxo, but I would be circumspect if I was skiing the Freeride + all day in-bounds. In my experience, the release characteristics are just not up to the same standards as alpine bindings.

What is really needed is a Duke lite, with a DIN up to 12. Probably in the pipline, but not until next season.
