no it's not raining cats and babies.

My sister-in-law is organising a surprise baby shower for my other sis-in-law.

I've never been to one, never had one and would be very happy for it to stay that way, but this baby has been a long time coming with many heartbroken years in the making, so we aim to make a big fuss and have lots of fun.

...what do we do?...

Initially thought this was an addendum to Hackett007's "Sydney Rain" thread!

have a tupperware party ;)

seriously though, don't look at me, never been to one!

If it was any of my friends or BH's SIL's the question would be which wine to drink :D

It's just a gathering of old birds and they talk about how bad their husbands/partners are and have a few drinks and give small baby themed gifts.

You should fit right in. ;) graemlins/outtahere.gif

Depends on how silly you want it to be.

The trend of late has been games.

Such as - guess the length of the string around the belly... (so much less painfully then an actual cm messurement).

Guess the baby food - taste jar baby food and guess what it is.

Guess the baby song - play an ipod of songs with the word Baby in it.

Write the letters "Baby Shower" down the side of a peice of paper and the first person to write a baby related word against the all the letters wins.

Guess the jelly babies in a jar.

Let me know if you need any other ideas. I am surrounded by babies, and therefore baby showers.

I'd use a bath. Babies are slippery buggers when wet.

Much prefer the male version of just going to the pub while the wifes still in hospital and smashing down beers and call it a wetting of the head. :D :D :D :D

Further to ozgirl's games theme, why not guess the mum to be's weight now and at birth? That would be fun for all.

I went to one once where they smeared different chocolate bars on different nappies and you had to guess what type of choc bar it was... Was gross, but pretty funny....
