At the moment easiest way is to go up the Hume to Tallarook then follow signs to yea, mansfield etc. Is that enough or do you need more explanation? Sorry if you need more..

Type in Stkilda to Mt buller into Google maps.

Going up the Melba through Yarra Glen is the other option but because of Brumby's stupid dry water pipe the roadworks are a killer...just had to add my 2 cents in smile.gif

The way up the Hume takes ages from what I remember.

Tobes, the Lillydale way is the Melba Hwy.
Eastlink, Maroohdah Hwy, Melba Hwy to Yea.

As Bdenny says, but, just before Lilydale there's a shortcut you can take, Victoria Road and McIntyre Lane, takes you straight to Yering. Takes about 15 mins off the trip, you miss Lilydale and Coldstream.

I had a mate that was back packing around Ireland. He was outside af Dublin somewhere.
He went into a pub & asked a local what was the quickest way to Dublin. The local asked him if he was driving or walking. My mate said driving. The local said " that would be the quickest way".
