Question for all the ski tech guru's out there.

I have a set of Elan MO2 2005, the twin tip with a rail down the center of the ski under the foot. Can this be ground down on a stone grinder? I thought that it would be just like the edges and get ground down with the rest of the ski.

Thanks

Only on a Montana machine, not on a Wintersteiger as the Wintersteiger stones are much softer and edges are not allowed to touch the stone.

Whos got a Montana then? I thought that was the idea though grind it all down flat, would be a pain to be doing that without touching the edges.

Thanks

Wintersteiger machines have the edges beveled on a belt prior to the stone grinding, Montana machines grind the edges and the plastic at the same time or can do like Wintersteiger and Bevel before hand, with Montana it is optional.

In Sydney i am fairly sure Larry Adler's have a Montana machine, otherwise there is a shop at Jindabyne called Proselect, they have the most modern Montana machine in Australia.

In Melbourne try Skiman at Hawthorn, they will do a great job on your skis with their Montana machine.
