I have ridden a Nitro for the last 4 seasons. Great boards with all the latest technology without the Burton price tag. None of the cap crap on the sidewalls but solid sandwhich construction for protection.
Super fast bases and bomb proof. I have the supra team and the negative camber makes it so lively. The kevlar panels on the top sheet make it look so tech. I love it.

Paul are these made by Elan or just distributed in Oz by the same company as Elan?
Cheers

A bit of both, last i heard some Nitro's are made by Elan, and they now being imported by the same people who import Elan and Giro.
Elan make boards for quite a few companies including Option, last i heard, things continually change though, so it is hard to keep up with just who is making what.
Volkl have made some excellent boards in the past for other companies like Nitro, but i am not sure if they still do make boards for other companies now that K2 own Volkl.

I bought a Nitro T2 last August and used it both in NZ & Australia, and then in Canada and USA this year. Love the board and would reccomend to anyone.
Tried last years Burton Custom and Lib Tech TRS, and couldnt wait to get back onto my T2. Value for money, as Paul said, they are hard to beat, got mine for $600 mid season.

Is there any info out there on the new seasons Raiden bindings? I've seen a couple of pairs and they look pretty good so I'm now thinking of buying a pair, but theres no info on flex etc. Not even sure of the price, but they are heaps better than my beaten T9's.

There are 9 different Raiden bindings, starting at $179 right up to $649. which model do you want information on.

The thing i love about Nitro boards is the waist width (great for smaller feet) ie 7-9. Most companys forget about this crew. Nitro caters well for small powerful riders.
The all mountain boards are something the beginner\intermediate can grow into to future safe yourself. The supra team thrives on being ridden hard and fast but reminds you when you are being lazy in the arvo. :D
Very lively and responsive board with alot of pop and great in POW.

I was looking at the Cyco, but I have also heard that the Phantom is top notch.
I was after something medium flex to go with a softer twin tip board. Strike out the freeride bindings, but what are there park/all mountain bindings? Thanks for any info you have.

As you may know we get the 2008 bindings here, and they have all changed, so here is a PDF file of the new ones for you to look at.

Paul, everyone out there,
I hear a lot from people that brands such as Nitro have all of the same or very similar specs as a Burton board but dont come with a Burton price tag...I'm after an intermediate rider level board that will be able to perform well in both oz snow but also let me have a ball in japan and other powder riddled countries, I dont want a top end board, just a good all rounder. I currently own a pair of burton cartel bindings if that changes your opinion or recommendation in any way.
Cheers!

Freeride or freestyle ?
There are a lot of brands every bit as good as Burton out there, Nitro and Option are two of them, but also Ride and K2 and the list goes on.

For myself i have owned and tried most brands, but these days i like the performance and durability of the Option brand of boards, the 2 year warranty gives you peace of mind if something goes wrong, and for the price, i doubt you will find a better board.
The new 2008 Redline at $799 rec retail is exceptional value.
my gf 08 149 fate just arrived with janna bannana bindings
she can't wait to get up to the hills and try it out
even i'm jealous of it - its a hot little board
