Try the downloadhelper extension for FF. You need to install the download converthelper - accessed through the downloadhelper menu.

Alternatively, if you just want to watch the d/loaded youtube vid, then just use the downloader function (not converting).

The .flv file can be viewed with vlc video player.

Not sure if this will play/convert flash video but it should. It converts video wonderfully; Mpeg streamclip www.squared5.com (http://www.squared5.com) - it's free and mostly all I use.

I should be their sales rep with the amount of times I recomend it.
