Heading to Hotham tonight - first time since I was a kid, so I was wondering where are the best places to stop for petrol? Are there any Coles petrol stations? (I have a 10c/ltr off)
Where is the last place/town to fill up before the petrol starts getting as expensive as everything else at the snow?

There is a Shell at Sutton Forest I think, or is that the BP.... hhmm can't remember! I think Marulan has the BP. One or the other, either way you hit a Shell service station on the highway before Goulburn!

Really? I've never actually noticed that - I suppose I'm not very observant. Is there anywhere a lot closer to Hotham - I think If I fill up before Goulburn, I won't make it far on the way back..

Surely you'll find one in Albury/Wodonga.
Not sure if your car will make it that far though (mine can comfortably get to Melbourne on one tank), but if it can, that would be a sure bet.
here you go~ hope this helps~

How long would it take to do a Google Streetview from Sydney to Hotham? That would be one way of checking servos (but not prices). tongue.gif

you in 2x2 or 4x4?
either way its a good number of tanks. Just try and keep it full whenever it is (relativly) cheap. i.e. in more urbanised areas.
Also make sure she is full before you go up the mountain.
Plenty of choices.
Pheasant Nest
Sutton Forest
Marulan
South Goulburn
Yass
Gundagai
Holbrook
Albury
Main trucking route so plenty of fuel choices.

We usually get from lower north shore to South Gundagai on the first tank, Albury for a top-up. It will depend on how big a range you have & how much roadworks are happening at the moment.
