My mum gave me a pedometer that she no longer wanted. I was highly surprised how hard it is to do 10,000 steps a day, which is the recomended minimum. Does anyone else have a pedometer and find it hard to get to that many steps? I must admit that 10,000 steps is without the 1hr I spend at the gym because the pedometer keeps falling off.

Just shake it up and down for about 6mins and there you are.

If i'm up and down at my desk walking around to see people in the office instead of emailing them and walk to mac centre to get lunch or shop, then getting to 10000 steps is posible if I do a walk as well, otherwise it's difficult.

Just shows how inactive we are when we think we're doing lots

And there's the tasty food, full of butter and cream (so we have the energy to do the km).
Overweight waitstaff there aren't many of. It's a glamour industry. ;)

Maybe I should do some waitressing over x-mas.

I find it fairly easy to hit the 10,000 in a day. But days when I am stuck at my desk maybe I hit around 8,000

might be on your feet for a shift but seriously doubt you would walk 1/2 marathon in your shift.

20,000 steps, not 20 kms, I think.

Steps.
10+ km.
I've done the math based on the size of the room and the number of trips made for each table, confirmed by a pedometer.
On a busy night it can be a lot more!
It's been published that waitstaff can easily do 15 km a shift.

I can do up to 80km a week!
