I use a company at Manly Beach - they have some pretty good apartments for rent, just like renting something at Thredbo - only cheaper.

I rented one of these and it was lovely and secure. Some of the other ones I have stayed at too and they are equally lovely.

Depends on the $$ and how much you want to spend, but I always go on secure properties in these areas.

Manly is expensive (keeps the bogans out). How long are you staying? And by the way Manly to Palm Beach is about 40kms. December is peak time so alot of places will already be booked.

It's a pub at neutral bay, north shore rather than over towards manly but doable from manly on Pub transport.

Other than SJS's link and the major hotels in manly, everything else north of there is pretty much pub accom or places like the Newport Mirage resort. Inbetween newport and manly, there isn't much hotel/apartment wise.

playing golf at Magenta Shores which is apparently rated in the top 10 in Australia. Will be interesting to compare to Victoria's coastal links courses.

the novetel at manly if you want expensive, checkers resort at terry hills is nice and reasonably priced, or you can go the narrabeen caravan park which has accommodation from grassed lots where you can put up a tent to self contained cabins and is fairly cheap.

There is also the Travelodge at Brookvale next to the Leagues club and I know some apartments in Dee Why are rented. Perhaps try one of the real estate sites?
